Depending on where you live, we'll arrange sessions to take place in person or online.  I live just outside of Philadelphia, and often travel to New York City - so if  live sessions are preferred, we can probably make them happen anywhere between Philly and NY. 

That said, online sessions are just as if not more effective as those that take place in person.  I build a personalized, shared Google Site for each student that contains all their writing, along with resources, tips, exercises, and more, all organized and available to them at their convenience for as long as they like.  The site provides the advantages of synchronous collaboration; for instance, we read and review shared materials together so students can immediately apply necessary knowledge to assignments. Also, I have the ability to immediately explain mistakes in sentence construction or conventions of standard English so students can immediately make corrections and demonstrate understanding. In addition, Google Search comes in handy for arcane subjects, such the flight pattern of  kestrels--which your student and/or I [!]  just may need to research for their class assignment. 

All in all,  depending on student needs, the flexibility and expansive opportunities that individualized online learning offers can be a gift.

• The ability for me to "enter into" the area of writing we're focusing on (a shared screen allows me to correct and explain mistakes, verbally and in writing, without delay)
